The BCCLS libraries are now officially using unified loan periods. All BCCLS member libraries will have the same loan periods and renewal limits, making it easier for you to keep track of your holds and checkouts!
Loan periods are now as follows:
- New books – 14 days – 1 renewal
- New DVDs – 7 days – 0 renewals
- Books – 28 days – 2 renewals
- Audiobooks – 28 days – 2 renewals
- DVDs – 14 days – 2 renewals
- Video games – 14 days – 2 renewals
- CDs – 14 days – 2 renewals
- Magazines – 7 days – 1 renewal
BCCLS libraries are also implementing an automatic renewal system!
Eligible items will renew automatically 3 days before their due date for the full loan period. You will receive a notification via email or text if an eligible item has been renewed.
You can still renew eligible items at any time through your account at bccls.org or at any BCCLS library.
Items will NOT be eligible for Auto-Renew if:
- The item has reached its renewal limit
- The item is on hold for another patron
- Your card has expired
- You owe $10 or more in fines
- You have 10 or more items overdue
To receive these benefits, you need to:
- Confirm that we have your current information in our system through your account at bccls.org or at any BCCLS library
- Be sure to set your notification preferences to email or text if you would like to be notified of automatic renewals
