We asked the staff of Lee Memorial Library and a few Board of Trustees to give us their top two children’s books, books that they either read when they were young or shared with their children. See what surprising picks they have set out for you! Marcia’s Top Two Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss Green Eggs and Ham is a best-selling and critically acclaimed children’s book by Dr. Seuss, first published on August 12, 1960. As of 2001, according to Publishers Weekly, it was the fourth best-selling English-language children’s book of all time. Key to the Treasure by Peggy Parish While spending the summer on their grandparents’ farm, Liza, Bill, and Ted unravel a series of coded clues that solve a family mystery. Veronica’s Top Two The Jolly Postman, or Other People’s Letters by Janet and Allan Ahlberg The Jolly Postman goes from home to home in a fairy-tale kingdom, delivering letters to Goldilocks, Cinderella, Hansel and Gretel, and other well-known characters.
