BOOKKEEPER/FINANCIAL ANALYST

****************************************************************

Lee Memorial Library in Allendale seeks a part-time Bookkeeper for 10 – 12 hours per week. This is a confidential position under the direct supervision of the library administrator. Operations are performed in compliance with the State of New Jersey’s local public finance regulations. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage payroll process for about 12 employees, and coordinate with the Borough
  • Manage financial reporting of receipts and disbursements to appropriate accounts
  • Reconcile accounts with bank statements on a monthly basis
  • Provide financial reports to management and the Board of Trustees to be used at monthly meetings
  • Work closely with management and Finance Committee on annual operating budget
  • Coordinate materials, answer questions, and provide support during annual audit from outside firm

Qualifications include:

  • Experience with QuickBooks and Excel is required
  • Knowledge of Fund Accounting (Operating and Capital), Budget and Actuals Analysis, and an understanding of Fund Balance
  • Teamwork, effectively communicate and work with part-time staff and Borough staff to manage monthly reports and budgets
  • One to two years professional experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or payroll, preferred

Education requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree considered
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Compensation:

  • $25 per hour

YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN 

***************************************************************

Lee Memorial Library in Allendale, NJ is seeking a dynamic professional whose strong work ethic, love of children, creativity, and positive outlook are ideally suited to the position of Youth Services Librarian.

The Youth Services Librarian is responsible for the administration and management of day-to-day youth service operations, including but not limited to: 

  • Providing library services to youth ages birth to eighteen, their parents, families and caregivers
  • Developing the youth collection, programs, and information services
  • Delivering patron-focused technology support
  • Creating and maintaining departmental budgets
  • Producing timely narrative and analytical reports on departmental usage and trends as well as keeping management abreast of best practices in youth services
  • Serving as the liaison to Allendale’s K-12 schools
  • Assisting in building effective and mutually beneficial community partnerships
  • Actively contributing to the library’s presence on social media and in other forums with confident technical expertise
  • Overseeing volunteers and assistants
  • Communicating productively with the community, library staff and management
  • Facilitating a safe, welcoming and appropriate environment for patrons

The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently on projects while participating cooperatively and productively within a team.  Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently are essential, as are demonstrated reliability and judgement. Broad knowledge of Polaris/LEAP a plus.

MLS/MLIS is required, as is the possession of or eligibility to receive a New Jersey State Professional Librarian Certificate. The position is full-time. Salary is commensurate with experience. Compensation includes an excellent benefits package composed of health care, pension, vacation and other benefits.
