This past year has brought us all closer to home, appreciating Allendale’s quiet beauty while missing the world beyond. In the process, so many have rediscovered one of the gems of Allendale: Lee Memorial Library. Suddenly, books via Porch Pickup, eBooks and audiobooks, free digital New York Times and Wall Street Journal subscriptions, mobile hot spots, take home crafts, and online programs filled our days like never before. Many of us learned to REALLY love the library even more!

These are exciting times for the library. As the Borough looks to reduce its use of space in the building we share, leaving significantly more room for the library, we are working to re-imagine the library as a more welcoming environment with updated infrastructure and technology to meet current and future community demand. To get there, we need your help.

We are The Friends of the Lee Memorial Library, the library’s primary source of fundraising. For 50 years the Friends have been the catalyst for new spaces, informative programs and innovative technology.

The library trustees are applying for a grant to renovate the building. If approved, every dollar raised will be MATCHED by State funds. Every donation, in any amount, will make a difference.
