Bookkeeper/Financial Analyst Opening:

Lee Memorial Library in Allendale seeks a part-time Bookkeeper for 10 – 12 hours per week, beginning immediately. This is a confidential position under the direct supervision of the library administrator. Operations are performed in compliance with the State of New Jersey’s local public finance regulations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage payroll process for about 12 employees, and coordinate with the Borough
  • Manage financial reporting of receipts and disbursements to appropriate accounts
  • Reconcile accounts with bank statements on a monthly basis
  • Provide financial reports to management and the Board of Trustees to be used at monthly meetings
  • Work closely with management and Finance Committee on annual operating budget
  • Coordinate materials, answer questions, and provide support during annual audit from outside firm

Qualifications include:

  • Experience with QuickBooks and Excel is required
  • Knowledge of Fund Accounting (Operating and Capital), Budget and Actuals Analysis, and an understanding of Fund Balance
  • Teamwork, effectively communicate and work with part-time staff and Borough staff to manage monthly reports and budgets
  • One to two years professional experience in bookkeeping, accounting, and/or payroll, preferred

Education requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree considered
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Compensation:

  • $25 per hour
