Summer ReadingEach year, the Lee Memorial Library hosts four Summer Reading Challenges. We offer:

  • Read to Me – Designed for pre-readers, this program is open to children up to age six who do not yet read on their own. To successfully complete this club, members must have thirty books read to them by the end of the summer
  • Read Alone – Open to children entering grades 1-6, this program is designed with independent readers in mind. Club members are asked to read ten books over the course of the summer. Any type of book counts!
  • Young Adult - Our Young Adult club is open to students entering grades 7-12. Teens complete a Book Bingo Card from the library and turn it in for a chance to win two $50 Amazon Gift Cards.
  • Adult – Our Adult Summer Reading Challenge is back! There are various prizes throughout the program, including a $100 to Mezza Luna for the first adult who finishes the program. Other prizes include, “Get out of Fine Free Cards,” an Amazon gift card, and free books! The goal for this program is to read 30 books.

New to Summer Reading: All sign ups and book logs will be through a website called Beanstack! This allows you to sign up online, log your books online, qualify for prizes, receive book recommendations, book lists, and much more! For patrons who would rather sign up in person, a library staff member can create your account and log your books as well. Follow this link to sign up:

Throughout the summer, special programs will be offered each month. For updated program information, please see the Event Calendar tab or visit the library for a monthly calendar.

**Please note, all summer reading clubs are open to Allendale residents ONLY**
