Lee Memorial Library Explores Our Past with the Allendale Historical Society

The Allendale Historical Society collects and exhibits a trove of documents, photographs, and artifacts on life in the Borough since its founding. Visit Allendale Historical Society to view newsletters, information on people and organizations, picture postcards and more.

And yes, the building that houses the library and Borough Hall was purpose-built as the Church of the Epiphany (now known as Trinity Church, located at 55 George Street.) The church sold the property to the town in the late 1970’s for its municipal offices and library.

Another fun fact? Before occupying its current space, the library was located at 1 West Allendale Avenue on the corner of Franklin Turnpike. The trophy shop, Universal Awards, occupies the space now.
